On our walk to school today, after a less than fun morning, my beautiful little man looked up at the trees and said,

‘WOW mum, look at the sky. It is the most beautiful day I have ever seen. Do you think everyone around the world knows how lucky we are to have this day?’

In that moment, the tight – shouldered, grumpy cowbag, post- morning blues lifted. I looked up, shook off my funk and started focusing on all the bloody incredible things that are right there in front of my nose. Just to be here right now, to have that extraordinary luxury, is something so easily forgotten for so many of us.

Now I know it is probably already becoming tiresome, my relentless message of how we need to make the most of our lives. But, until it is taken away, it is SO easy to just take it ALL for granted.

If you find yourself having a crap day, week, month, life…it may be time to shift your focus and put some thought into how you want your life or even the next hour to take shape.

It can take a bit of effort fighting the inner voice, the one that says it is too hard, or that it won’t work, or that it is somebody else’s fault etc…but if you just start by spending 5 minutes focusing on what you want, writing it down and actually committing to relentlessly making it happen, the obvious actions will then follow and those good old laws of attraction will start working their magic!

To be cont…

Your wee man is wise beyond his years. The next time I catch myself moaning about something, I promise I’ll try to remember how lucky I am to ‘have this day.’ Thanks, Jesse :)

Awwwww, very sweet and glad you are feeling better. Love this post and I totally agree. In some of my darkest moments in life when I’ve been so down and depressed and everything seemed to be going terribly wrong, I believed deep down inside thing would get better and they always did……I got out and kept going, the laws of attraction really do happen!

Wow! Are you sure he is only 7? How wonderful it can be to see the world through a child’s eyes and mind.

I have believed for a long time now that we really need to stop endlessly talking and hounding our children, I’m at fault for this too, to give them a chance to truly teach us!! Thank you so much for sharing!! And thank you Jessie for driving mom nuts so we got this blog!! Xo <3

Jesse looks so much like Andy in this shot. So precious! I definitely have to be more positive in my own life, and give thanks for the little things taken so easily for granted.

Vashti, dear! Thanks for sharing all these amazing stories with us all. They’ve made me cry, laugh… The feeling is always positive! What wonderful human beings you & your little ones are!!! Bless you! :)

How right you are Vashti…when I find myself being in a “funk”, I ask myself…”why am I thinking this way or acting this way”?  I literally have to shift my way of thinking to a more positive realm and believe me, it works.  I’ll think of something my son (who is 10) said that morning, or just think of him in general and somehow, nothing else matters and my funk is lifted.

Very wise and something I definitely needed to hear today. Thanks :-)

    Beautifully said!

A sweet reminder from someone so young but very wise that we should all focus more on the positive & simple things in life we have around us – less on the negative.  xxx

Never get tired of you saying to appreciate each and every day and moment. So true how we get wrapped up trying to complete so many things in our day. Some important and necessary some not so much. You are my inspiration and I will come here for it every day. My son is like Jesse, appreciates at a young age the good and wonderful things that are around us all. As well as being thoughtful and thinking of others as well. I hope and believe he will carry these wonderful traits with him through the years as I’m sure your beautiful children will. You are a awesome well rounded person and so grateful for your courage and inspiration.xxx

You are so right, ands so easy to get caught up in the stresses and strains of the day and let little thing knock u off balance.

I do try to reset, and its usually my kids that hit my reset button.
