Reasons, seasons and life times
I am a real believer that people come into our lives for reasons, seasons and life times. There are friendships, relationships, lovers and marriages that can last an entire life time and some that roll in and out with the tide. But they all serve a purpose, some are wonderful and some are just there to teach you something that you needed learn about yourself.
A little tale for you……….
Around ’95, on our summer vacation at University, a mixed bag of various students and friends met at a London airport, to go off traveling around Indonesia. That is where I first met Andy. It was brief and fairly insignificant, he was traveling with his lovely long term girlfriend and all I remember is that he was a really gentle guy and at the end of the trip he was significantly skinnier after a major belly bug! Apart from the hair he didn’t look too different to this gorgeous snap of him below, at high school.
5 years later the same girlfriend that had originally invited me along on the trip was hanging out at my place in East London. She mentioned that Andy lived really close by and that we should call them. That week walking to my gym, on a cold, wet London winter’s eve, an unusually handsome guy walked by and it was only because we had discussed him earlier that week, that I was able to recognize him and shout out….”uh Pete, Mike??? Andy!!!!!!”. The really weird thing was, he lived in the next street from my best buddies studio, which I visited most days, and even stranger than that was that we where both on our way to the same gym, and we were living only 10 minutes apart!

So 13 years later and my beautiful man unexpectedly exits this world, just as he unexpectedly entered my world twice! He left me with 2 gorgeous little ones, 13 years of fun, adventure, learning and loving and whilst my heart is a little bit broken, it is still just as full as it ever was, with the enormous love that Andy and I always shared with each other.
There are countless reasons as to why we came into each others lives. Whilst I didn’t get to share his whole life with Andy, he will always be in mine. Reasons, seasons or lifetimes, LOVE is LOVE and to have been wrapped in it for 13 years is something I will always always be grateful for.
